Data use governed by CAIDA's public acceptable-use agreement. Derived country-level connections retain attribution. 503,327 deduplicated AS adjacencies, 309,981 cross-country adjacencies; 4,916 country pairs, 729 displayed pairs (global top 200 plus each country's strongest three). Organisation registration is not infrastructure location. Lines are not traffic volumes, attack routes or physical cables. Do not infer an attack destination by combining independent datasets.

Six modelled species sampled equally (600 per species); 53 weekly boundaries, binned to 150-km cells, smoothed for display. This is a relative sample-density index, not population counts or live tracking. Local particle drift is illustrative. No interpolation across independent datasets. Natural Earth city population uses mixed source years, not a 2026 census or measured light output. Land, particles and cities share the same projection; city circles can extend beyond coastlines.
